Default Office File Open List is reversed

In all of my Office applications (but not Explorer) when I click on File Open the list of files presented to me is in reverse alphabtecial order. This is very inconvenient (when you have lots of files). It has been like this on my machine for months now. I must have done something to make it do this, but cannot find any fix for it.

Just click on the bar at the top (Name) and it will alternate to alpha - reverse alpha - alpha etc.

Same as Size, Type and Date Modified fields, if you click on their header bars it will sort according to those columns.

This is standard behaviour for Windows Explorer as well as in Office file views.

Thanks - I knew that. I want it to default to the correct alpha sort. It keeps reverting to reverse order !

    Sorry can't help then

My Office (XP) treats it as a "sticky" setting.
Wherever I leave it, its the same order when I next open it.
