    Default Hard drives

    Hi Guys,

Am installing a 60 GB hard drive in my four year old HP computer with basic 6.4 GB hard drive as standard fitting

Intend using original HD drive a Back up with Win 98 and basic programs left as is, copying same to "D" drive for everyday use.

What is optimium number of partitions for 60G hard drive, and should I leave one for swap flie use ?

    all comments appreciated

    Pete

Make sure the HP drive can handle a 60GB HDD, I've noticed sometimes you have to limit it to 32GB HDD (jumpers) and/or try a HDD overlay if your BIOS don't like it.

Optimum number of partitions for Win98 on that HDD is 1 primary & say 3 logical.

FAT32 can have some hassles with partitions over 40GB in size (machine & HDD dependant)
