Default TV-O Yeilds poor results - Why is this?

When I last tried running my PC through the TV (Used GF4 MX 440SE w/TVO) it worked great and I was watching DVD's Fine!

However - I decided to make a quick little walkthru of some office features to send too the relatives on a VCR Tape.

    A few things went wrong:

It was black and white (Which I wouldnt mind too much.... they just wanna know how to do some things in Office)

It was pretty fuzzy most of the time.

Is there any way I can fix this?? It worked fine running it through the VCR right to the TV, but when I tried recording it on the tape, playback was not good as described before.

    Any help much appreciated :-)

    Cheers

are you sure its pal output not ntsc? some video cards have a jumber to select it. no idea with a 440mx tho.

Black and white tells me that you're feeding a composite signal to an s-video in or vice versa.
The av in on the TV might be set to receive the wrong signal or the source signal may not be right.
Other then that as I think you know, I've been underwhelmed by TV out from video cards!
    Good luck

Ive set it to D/PAL and giving it a try (China).

So far it seems good, but Im gonna borrow a higher quality RCA lead from a friend and see if I can get rid of some of the image distortion!

    Thanks :-)

Well, its set to the D/PAL, but its still a bit fuzzy - More so than when it goes directly through the TV.

Ive gone and got a nice high-quality lead from a friend, but its still the same.

What is it supposed to be set to in the nView display Properties?

Does anybody else out there do this, and if so, what are the results??

    Cheers

Whats the proximity of the VCR to the Monitor? VCR's can be susceptible to EMI (Elecro-Magnetic Interference) from the scanning coils on a CRT. It can show up as interference on the recorded tape. A few feet away should be fine though.
