IE could be corrupt and not be sending your details correctly, so have you tried restoring it??
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs
Click on Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and Internet Tools (or something like that)
    Click on Add/Remove
    Click on Repair
    and follow the screen instructions

Check you have Cookies enabled in IE
    Tools/Internet Options
    Click on Security Tab
    Click on Custom level
    Scroll down to Cookies
Enable - Allow per session and Allow cookies that are stored
    Click OK

    Click on the Advanced Tab
    Click on Restore defaults
    Click Apply and OK
