    Default Installation of CD-Rom

    Hi Folks,

I have a HP pavillion 510a, HD40gb, 256RAM, 1.2ghz CPU. I'm looking at installing either a 32x 0r 48x cd-rom, in the extra bay to supplement the writer already installed.
I've never installed one before, and I'm wondering if I would see a drop off in overall performance in the computer?

many thanks to all of you for your help through the year, and merry christmas.

Should be no drop in performance. If using the same cable as the cdrw, make sure new one is set as slave. Mine is set as master & cdrw as slave, but plenty of different ideas on what is best.
    Bye Merry Xmas
