    Default Lost linux panel

I am running W98 and Linux Red Hat on a separate HD on its own.I tried to load Knoppix from the PC disk while in W98 and it went haywire after detecting hardware with a wide snowy coulered band across the middle of my screen. After quitting W98 still works but my Gnome screen has the and another RH icon but no panel. As i am pretty new to Linux I am at a loss on how to retrieve a panel.Preferably the one i had.

You didn't read the instructions, did you? :_| "while in Win98" ?:| ... Knoppix boots from the CD, or from a floppy which can be made from the CD.

I think your best bet will be to reinstall RH. Tell it you want to "update" when it asks (even though this is an update to the same version) , and it should keep most of the settings you have. It's good that the GNU/Linux is on its own HD ... that makes life safer ...
