Default viewsonic E70f flat screen monitor edges not straight

    Hi
I have an E70f flat screen monitor and despite fiddling for ages with the pin cushion settings etc I can't get perfectly square/ straight screen edges - they have a slight but annoying curve in them. Is this a common problem with flat screen monitors?

second question - I have a set of Linux mandrake 8.2 CDs and a file that gives the "mdsums" that the CDs are supposed to be - how do you find out the "checksum" of a CD.

If the distortion is uncorrectable and objectional, you should take it back. Its not always possible to get CRTs absolutely precise, but should not be as bad as to cause annoyance.

Flat screens are *slightly* more prone to error due to geometry, but not by that much.
