Live update will not update liveupdate

Using Norton AV 2001 I am trying to update using live update, it will not update the live update. It does virus defs and everything else all right just not the live update bit. The update I am trying to do is the 1831.9 kb one, and it updates live update 1.06 to 1.07.

Any one know why this isn't working, I have tried a reinstall.

That sounds strange. I use NAV 2001 with auto-notification of updates which come in several time a week. There hasn't been an update to Live Update for many moons, just virus definitions and there were about 5 or 6 of those in the last week.

How long is it since you last updated and as already asked, has your subscription expired?

Thanks for the interest guys but the problem has now been solved.

I went to the Symantec site and downloaded it manually.


Billy - The reason It was trying to update Live Update is that I had to totally reinstall to fix another problem, and there for it was all the old stuff.

I have had the same problem for a few weeks since I had to do a reinstall. I had not thought to actually see if the file was available as a seperate download so thanks for that info. Cannot think why it will not work properly though, especially considering I have been able to get all other updates without hassles.

I think it may be because it is using live update to download the file and then there for cannot install it because live update is being used.

That was just my theory any way.
