    Slight thread hijack, but InternetCity (internetcity.net.nz) have some pretty good specials on at the moment:

    LG 52x CD-ROM OEM 2 year warranty @ $59
    LG 40x12x48 CD-RW Retail 2 year warranty @135
    LG 16x48 DVD-ROM OEM 2 year warranty @105

    ..which might make it possible for everyone to upgrade to the fastest anyway. I couldn't believe the prices on these. Wicked.

    The "overclocking" will only work if your laser spec is at the upper end of the range, as thats the limitation. Even then, will probably only work when new, once emission drops fractionally its coasters..
