Default Loading WIN 98 onto second hand computer

Have purchased a second hand computer that had the hard drive cleaned. While trying to load Win98 from a CD or use a start up disk, the computer does not read any drives except the C drive. How can I alter the configuration so that I can load Windows etc?

You need to go into the BIOS on bootup and set to "boot" optiond to FDD, CD, HDD order.

Keypress on bootup depends on BIOS type, often displayed for a few secs at boot time. Try F1, or DEL

You will find it easier to boot from a floppy that loads generic CD drivers. You can use any (except xp) boot disk created by the window Emergency Boot Disk creator

You can find this in the add/remove programs applet.
