    Default Open Office org

Reference Open office org on PC World free CD for July,
I have Windows 98 (first edition) with Word 97 and Excel 97.
    (1) Is there any way I can run Open Office org programme from the CD to view it without installing it?
    (2) Can I do anything more with this programme than can be done with
    Word 97 and Excel 97?

No. But it takes a fraction of the HD space the MSOffice does.

Yes. You can easily convert all files you save to XML, as this is the native file format for OpenOffice. You can also do better HTML conversions with OpenOffice.
