How do you save a graphic out of a Word document (or any document) and save just the graphic as a jpg, gif, bmp etc. For use in other publications. (I know how to cut & paste from one doc to another)

Cut the graphic. Start your graphic editor, ie Photoshop. Select file new then paste the image from memory.
Use the graphic editor's options to save the image in the format you require.

When pasting (depending on the program) you may have to create a blank image at least the size of the cut image. To find the size while still in Word, right click, select Format Picture then click on the size tab. The original size is down the bottom.

    See how you go.
