    Default Default Mail Handler

I'm running Outlook 2000 and Outlook Express 5. Currently, OE5 is my default mail handler, so every time I click to email off a web page, it comes up with an OE5 message.

Problem is, I use OE5 for my 'junk addresses', and Outlook for my real one.

How can I stop OE5 being my default mail handler, or promote Outlook? I can under Tools, Options, General, that it is already, but it doesn't give me the ability to let go.

    Cheers

    R E T,

I'm not sure if this works, as I don't have OE installed on my system, but in Internet Explorer, open Internet Options (Tools > Internet Options) and go to the Programs Tab.

Once there, there should be an option to tell IE what program to associate with email, set this to Microsoft Outlook, and click OK.

Hopefully this should now point emails automatically to Outlook. Next time you open Outlook Express you'll probably get a message about it not being default mail program - untick the box that says something like 'always warn me', and click NO to setting OE as your default mail handler.

    HTH

    Mike.
