I just did a test install of EM with my Outlook.com account and it works fine. Some little things / niggles that I have compared to Outlook 365 but generally looks fine..

Yeah it looks good but its not finding my IMAP server.
All the settings are correct so I am not sure what it might be.

All you should have to do is when installing, enter the details of your outlook.com account and it should find it and enter the defaults automatically. (this is of course as long as you are using Microsoft as the default email provider, if you have some other sort of routing then it needs to be entered to suit.)
Only time I seen it fail is when the user details are wrong OR some sort of Software (firewall) is blocking it. You'd be surprised how many people get their passwords wrong, as they auto sign in to some places (outlook.com for example).
I had problems once, then the penny dropped, I was using outlook.com instead of outlook.co.nz Dhurrrrrrrr![]()

At least I did.
It won't find it automatically and I have tried all the options I have for the server settings but its just not working and I am not sure what else to try.

If its a private Server ( not a Microsoft Server -Outlook) then you have to make sure all settings, SSL, Authentication, actual mail server names and protocols etc are correct. Being none standard Servers then you may have problems here with a possibility of no help. ( unknown details, settings etc)
Had one today with the latest Outlook 365, the damn thing wouldn't find the server, user account settings were right (Xtra Servers) Had to manually enter details, I had forgot to tick one boxOnce ticked got flooded with mails.
We are not sure why but a server diagnostic found a EXIM block on the IP.
It is very strange, only impacted two ports and no one can find a reason for it to exist in the first place.
Whitelisting has resolved the problem on both the EM client and Outlook.
