    Default Photos problem

For an unknown reason I can't get my Photos program to work in W10. It comes up as a black screen only, but I know the program is still there and the pictures folder is still there. What can I try to fix this?

Is it the inbuilt Windows photo Program or some other third Party Program -- More info needed.

Yes Clive I have tried all the settings and troubleshooting I can find, and yes Wainui it is the built-in
    default Photos program.

My computer and I seem to get on better with the old Windows Photo Viewer rather than Photos.

I generally have no problems with photos -I'm Win10 Pro 21H2 but on occasion I have had to resort to Inkscape if a photo will not open for me

Sometimes you have to uninstall the Photo Viewer package and reinstall it.

I normally install the older style photo Viewer, its still faster than the newer one. You have to edit the reg to activate it,

To get it go to https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/...dows-10-a.html Scroll down the page and there's download links for the completed reg file, simply double click it after downloading and then go to any picture - Right click - Open With - tick the box to make it the default.

Thanks Wainui. I will read through all this and give it a go. I tried to reload Photos from the Microsoft Store but it came up with no download button, possibly because it showed the program as already installed. It is, but it doesn't work.

You wont be able to install over the top until you remove the current version, then it should show in the MS Store as available.

How to uninstall it. Must be done in Power Shell as Admin. https://www.isumsoft.com/windows-10/how-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-photos-app-in-windows-10

Note: number 2 in the instructions -- You can also click in the search and type in Power Shell ( run as Administrator)
