Help with Text Maker - free version of Word

I have a small problem with Text Maker which is the Softmaker version of Word. It looks and works very much like Word.

When editing a document and I want to insert a word in the middle of a sentence between two words, what I type erases the words, rather than just inserting them. I would like to know how I can turn that off so that I can insert a word.

Have you tried the insert button on the keyboard ?
Otherwise there'll be a setting somewhere I'm sure.

Just replicated your problem. Copied your text in this thread, clicked where I wanted to insert A new word and it went in as it should, the remainder of the text moved sideways.

Pressed the insert key ( on keyboard) and it wipes out as you described.

Solution was press the insert key to toggle two modes.

From a Similar problem listed in Word:

A computer has two different typing modes -- the insert mode and the overtype mode. The former is the default mode and works much as you'd expect, with what you type being inserted at the location of the text cursor, displacing existing text. The latter replaces text instead of displacing it, effectively "typing over it" as the name implies.

I had looked for a setting but could not find one.
