My car is away being fixed after it's long wait for the damage when someone backed into me .

I have a loan car - a Hyundai Getz? or some such.

I hate it.

Other than feeling like I'm sitting on the road, and the difficulty getting in and out, no way can I get - even folded - mums wheelchair in it.
I can, just, get her walker in....folded. Sadly we have to empty her under seat bag every time, yes she carts all sorts of stuff round.

I miss my car!! Or SUV? It is a baby SUV but still, much better for getting in and out and the room in back! I leave one seat in place for brother, but even with just one folded up, heaps of room for wheelchair, without even being folded.

With both seats up I got a boxed oven in it once.

And those nongs who say we don't need SUVs....It is only 1500cc...no 4wd...

Agree, hired one of those when in Christchurch last year. Bloody awful car!!! That little SUV of hours is a far better option. My Suzuki Vitara as well. Both Ara so practical without being humongous.

Many moons ago I got a lime green Nissan Micra as a loan car when my Maxima was getting a bootlid spoiler installed.

I drove home and hid - didn't want to be seen in it.

I know whats its like. I had two 18 yr old or so chick flat mates (one of them wasnt that flat) in Blenheim when I was driving with them in my E93A they would slump down if they saw any of their friends.

My first was an E93A. Great little car but needed a lot of mechanical work to keep it on the road back in the early 60s.

What? Oil leaks on British fine engineering? Never, it's just the engine giving the concrete driveway a grease and oil change!

Shame on you for insinuating that British made cars leak.

If any British machinery doesn't drip oil, top it up immediately - it has run out of oil. Triumph m/cycles especially so - no leak, don't start it.

Our British motor dripped a bit...but after 100,000miles, not long at all really, never mind drips...it was drinking 4 litres of oil a week!

Anyway got my car back, it's clean too, inside and out. And they said next time, lol....., I can let them know and they'll give me something more suitable for stuffing wheelchairs in. Nice of them.

Were they the ones advertising where they were pleading for Napier people to drive down rough roads and crash their cars so as to keep them in work? Napier Panel Beaters I think. Quite funny, the ad.
