    Default Win11 Folder access denied

Just discovered that I have no permission to save in this location:

" ... You don't have permission to save in this location.
Contact the administrator to obtain permission.

Would you like to save in the Documents folder instead?"

How do I get Win11 to allow me? I am the Administrator. It's my computer and I installed Win11 on this PC.

Bit more info -- What folder & Where ? Windows 11 is the whole OS, doesn't have a single folder called as such.

Some folders are system folders and are protected for a reason, (Usually hidden).

Just adding to above: Depending on what folder you are trying to access its because you don't have permission.

The following link is for Windows 10 but its the same in Windows 11 https://www.partitionwizard.com/part...-location.html

Similar answers, basically skip to Solution 3, AND Solution 9 Seen that a few times as well esp if using something like Avast https://www.thecpuguide.com/gaming/y...this-location/

It's my data/documents folder, different physical disk drive from the System drive. I disconnected all other disks (2 nos) before installing Win11 and reconnected them after the installation was completed.

It stores all my previous data/documents, music files, etc., I have this drive years ago before upgraded to Win11 recently. I can read all the files, no problem, but can't write anything to it.

what happens if you to to make & save a txt file to those folders ?
can you access these folders with file Explorer , doing that can force a change in access permissions .

you may need to reset NTFS permissions/ownership of the folders
right click , properties , security

It could also be HD failing , less likely though.
Run a chkdsk /f on that drive (from cmd prompt)
