A lot of people don't know about alternatives.
Some are scared to try, too hard.
Some need to stay with the norm for various reasons - gaming for a big instance.

And some just abandon the whole MS treadmill.

    +1
    For the non-work related OS.
It can be difficult at times to overcome relatively simple steps in Windows, e.g. connecting Chromecast.
Still it's worthwhile to look and start on some Linux.

Once upon a time, they used to have hard copy manuals. But unlike population growth they got rid of them.

My W10 updated without my say so and lucky for them, the battery icon popped back onto the taskbar this morning.

    lurking.

All because the user interface on 10 is better (as mentioned above)

eg : copy & paste mouse right clicks : just awefull on 11
So there are problems with basic copy and paste functions in W11? What exactly is awful? Copy and paste is a common and core functionality that's been around forever so I couldn't really see how they could stuff that up?

There is NO actual problem with copy / Paste functions they work as always have.

The Problem some are having is the layout. The keyboard Shortcut keys still work exactly as they always have. The default layout for right click has changed, See Below:

Right clicking some file --- The icons mean along the top Cut - Copy- Rename - Share - Delete.

Once you select Cut or Copy there's a single icon for Paste

If you click on " Show more Options" the original menus appear.

Quite simple people don't like changes and cant be bothered learning what's new. In other words "Karens"

That is a good screenshot Wainui. Looks pretty straightforward to me for right click tracking of purposes

Yes I agree. Looking at that, I can't really foresee a problem with using it. It's basically still the same action, right click, and then left click. Only difference is clicking an icon instead of text. In fact I think I prefer it the newer way, because you would always have those same icons no matter what you are doing. So it's in the same, consistent place. When the other text menu options might vary, based on what program you are in.

I've installed Windows 11 on a VM and had a bit of a look, but not extensively.

I actually like its interface a lot more than the horrendous Windows 8/10 bodge of half classic UI and half mobile style.

I feel Win 11 is more consistent in its style overall, at least, though not perfect. And I would still have to use some kind of tweaks to make the taskbar function more like a classic one, as I have with Windows 7 also.

But I have little interest in actually using it for anything, overall. I'm sure its got more tracking and rubbish than Windows 10 and 8 combined, and the forced updates with these new versions, so you can't wait a week or two and see if everyone else has problems first, is just stupid.

Any real love I have for Windows ends at XP, really.

Should you 'upgrade' to Windows 11?

Ultimately that's up to you. But if you're firmly in the Windows camp, then you'll have to eventually.
