Import Duties

I'm about to order a Uniden radio from Amazon.
Can anyone tell me the cutoff point for having to pay duty.
Looking at 2 items, one at NZ $650, another at $400.

If it's under the threshold then no duty is payable but you will have to pay 15% GST on each item.

Amazon will add the gst when you pay for it

Also, some things still have duty , even if below $400 . Not many things it that category though .
Its more a tarrif on certain imports

Ordered yesterday.
Got email today, advising delivery May 17.
That would be a new record from the US.
I'll believe that when it happens.
Still waiting for an item bought on eBay 2 months ago.

Ive been reluctant to order from the USA because of possible courier delays, US Post no longer send to NZ etc

Bet any hold up will be once it arrives in Auckland

Lately anything ordered from Aliexpress takes 10-12 days, takes longer to get from Auckland to Wellington than to NZ.
