Can some one please advise me on this.The kids were binning it so I've grabbed it. I can't figure out how to get into Windows,10 I think.

First screen.........SATA Port 0 ST500LT012-9WS142 Lock

I push enter and the second screen shows

Second screen.....Please input password for ST500LT012-9WS142

Contacted my son and he gave me a few nos but nothing works. I think that's why he's binned it.
Any ideas? I have googled it.

OK, its sounds like someone added a bios level Hard Drive password .
If so, either find the password or replace the HD

usual story, add in low level password, then loose the password :-(

Probably have to do that Agent. If I remove the Hard drive will that let me boot into bios and check boot order?

no one can answer that without alot more info .
Bottom line, you wont know for sure untill you try .

Can you get into the bios , is that also pass protected ?
have you tried to remove HD pass in the bios ? (you might need the pass in order to do that)

You are required to know the current password before you can delete or change ...

Problem is, you don't know the current password!!!???

Took the drive out and checked it with my main PC. Macrium doesn't see it and MiniTool sees it but says Bad Disk!
Managed to get into boot manager on the laptop by pressing delete as it started.

On the screen it shows Boot Option Menu
(arrow up) and (arrow down) to choose option. ENTER to select an option.
Nothing happens with any keys I push! The only thing that works is the power button.
Looks like a recycle job for my friend.
