Any 'cheap' way to add USB type C to my old PC?

Saw some PCIe add on cards but they are not cheap!

Depends on what is classed as "Cheap" Did you want a Adaptor / hub that plugs into USB3 on the computer with USB-C ports OR a PCIe Card with USB-C ports ??

Having a look about they are over priced in NZ

I'm in the process of building a new PC, the board doesn't have USB-C and was wanting some as well. Went and ordered one from Aliexpress -- How's $30 NZ???

It may be here before Christmas-who knows, I'll let you know when it arrives Some stuff takes longer than others, had stuff turn up within 2 weeks, others take a month or more. Depends on how much of a hurry you're in.

Had 2 buys that took over 90 days ,one I applied for a refund only to have it turn up just the other day

Depends how its coming, just had 4 different items turn up this week, longest was ordered 3 weeks ago.

Some USB adapters don't work like they are meant to / Advertised. Had that happen MANY times.

With Aliexpress I work on the principle as long as you're in no hurry its not a problem. But usually expect at least a Month. If it comes earlier thats a bonus.

SWMBO got a Parcel yesterday, she didn't know what it was, it ended up being a handbag type thing that holds phone and everything including the kitchen sink LOL cost her $10 ( the same in NZ would have been around $90) She had gotten a refund as it was taking to long she applied for a refund after 7 weeks, then it turned up ( typical)

Clothes are another matter their sizing are small. Some of its rubbish some not, some the items are the exact same thing you get in NZ but at a fraction of the price.

I've gotten in LCD panels at a fraction of teh cost, they are Brand New and the EXACT same panel as the original.

Try 2 months now.

With the aliexpress orders I did last night, EXPECTED delivery dates where 13Jan & 31Jan .
Some sellers 'expected' delivery dates were Feb next year !!!
At least they are being honest with that .
