Linux Query

I have just built up a desktop system for use with SDR Radio.
I am experimenting with various OS’s & software.
I have a front loading HD Caddie for easy swapping out of drives.
On one drive I have three distros of Linux, triple booted.
The issue I have is with mouse curser speed.
I have a issue with my hand & use a trackball mouse.
On Zorin OS 16 I can get the curser speed just where I want it.
On Dragon OS & Skywave it is way too fast even on the slowest setting.
With a standard mouse it is fine but I have difficulty using one

My question is:
How can I slow the curser speed down to the same as on Zorin ?

Just as a reference with this particular track ball, curser speed is fine on windows.

A google search on this issue has suggested various tweaks that can be made in the terminal but none in any language I can understand.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've noticed Linux in general has faster mouse cursor speeds than Windows, but I've never really wanted to change it.

Indeed, post these tweaks you speak of, hopefully someone can help you make sense of it.

It looks fairly simple but I have difficulty putting it into practice.
Also as I understand it, it's only good until the system is restarted.
Then it reverts back to the default.
I'm afraid Linux is not my first Language.

Further to this, I have viewed the "list-props" in the terminals of all three distros & can see the differences in the cursor speeds.

But I don't know how to make the changes so they will remain after a restart.

I'll keep chipping away at it.

As said in the article, you can make a script that runs on startup to apply your settings at every boot.

Have you searched Google for something like "Startup script Linux Mint <version number>"?

Yes, had a good look there before I started this thread.
There is loads of related info to choose from.
It's trying to find some, specific to my particular issue.
As in post #5, I have an idea of I what I want to change.
But just how to format that into a script I struggle with.
It's the variation in the given examples that confuse me.
I guess I'll have to experiment.

So just to check... in post #5 you say you can got the mouse speed info with the "list-props" command?

So, have you been able to use the "xinput --set-prop" command to successfully slow down or otherwise change the speed of the mouse pointer?
