Belgium’s government has warned that the country could well be on the cusp of another major surge in Covid-19 cases despite its high vaccination rate:

yeah thats what happens when you loosen the health measures.
at best, vaccine only reduces spread by 75%, the rest has to be taken up by other measures. higher the vaccine rate is the less measures that are needed, but you will always have some.

Looks like the vaccine we are being "forced" to take may soon become obsolete.

Interesting what the scientist has to say about the present vaccines effectiveness against the Delta variant.

Anyone seen this on our media reporting on this?

i didn't watch the whole video.
but its great to see that they are putting effort in and making something new and better. i hope it all goes well.

but it still doesn't change todays situation. we need people vaccinated today, we can't wait for a new improved version, which people will shy away from because its new anyway.
we don't have the luxury of time anymore. there is covid cases in northland and south island now, the crap is hitting the fan.

    we need everyone vaccinated now.
look at better vaccines later on.

Well done zqwerty, you nailed that one.

How do you explain how the "Banana Benders" (Queenslander's) haven't had a case again, yet they have a boarder with NSW who has thousands of cases?

No answer except maybe lax testing which is not finding the cases yet.

They would save a lot more lives if they just locked the country down every long weekend. 4 killed already on the roads and Aucklanders are unable to contribute. Who was that Green MP that reckoned she would achieve a zero road toll?
