    Default WiFi repeater advice

The internet signal from the modem upstairs to the Vodaphone TV device is weak with drop outs.
I have been looking at WiFi repeaters and want to know if I should get one with only 2.4 g or with 2.4 and 5g.
Is there any advantage in having 5g?
The signal has to go about 10 metres diagonally from the modem to the tv downstairs.

    At 10m, you can't run a cable?

Personally unless you can run a cable you can use a power line adaptor, simply plug into the Power Socket, one end into the Router the other into the power socket where the TV is. Then run a short cable from Adapter to TV, the internet runs via your power in the house. Something like a TP-Link TL-PA4010PKIT.

Just put one of these into a place last week https://www.tp-link.com/au/home-netw...tl-wpa4220kit/ The Sleepout was at the other end of the Garden, had power supplied from Fuse board in the house, worked fine. Can use either Wireless or Ethernet.

Note: you can get them either with or without wireless.

The problem is they are very popular and supply is short or on back orders. The one I used was ordered a month ago from suppliers, all stock was sold even before arriving.

Wifi repeaters are usually a waste of time.

Better option is a powerline kit, as above .
Best way is to run cables , but thats usually not an option is many homes
