The problems we face today are because the people who work for a living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

Two Delta cases have been discovered in Waikato, the Ministry of Health said this morning.
One case is in Raglan and the other, a known contact of the Raglan case, is in Hamilton East. They are self-isolating at this stage and will be moved to a quarantine facility.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and director-general of health Ashley Bloomfield will be holding a press conference at 1pm today to provide the latest update.

The Hamilton East case was tested after becoming unwell. They are being treated in Waikato Hospital.

The Herald understands Waikato Hospital is in lockdown, with people phoning the hospital being told they cannot visit as of this morning.
An Auckland-based truck driver who travelled to Palmerston North for work purposes has tested positive for Covid-19.

The case was detected in a routine surveillance test which was done in Auckland on Friday, and which returned a positive result earlier on Saturday, the Ministry of Health said in a statement released last night.

The driver is currently isolating at a facility in Palmerston North.

I suspect it's here to stay now and elimination is a lost cause. Just vax as many as possible and it will end just like another flu..

the problem is its not "just another flu".
its substantially more infectious, and does substantially more damage.

Last time one heard that phrase, was with the Aids outbreak. They don't even report anything in the paper any more, I suppose it's still out there!.

    Same with Ebola!.

As an aside: how are our friends in Fiji doing with Covid ?.

    lurking.

True, but not among vaccinated people.

    Get vaccinated!
