Just what I was going to say.
And actually, flu can be as bad....people are forgetting the 1918 variety, sure wasn't just flu!

As I understand it, being vaccinated does not stop you contracting Covid-19 or passing it on to someone else - it just protects you from the effects of the virus.

So as Pcuser says, "get vaccinated." After all, you receive your 'flu jab each year (and you would not refuse that jab!), and the Covid-19 is no different.

Even with the vaccination you can get COVID-19, most of the time you can avoid ICU, if you are lucky so it has been mentioned regularly.
Dr Baker pointed out yesterday Covid being the disease of the unvaccinated.
Be prepared that the outbreak won't be suppressed any longer, hopefully slowed.

On RNZ national this morning someone suggested that Anti Vaccers should be required to sign a disclaimer that they accept they should not be admitted to ICU. I agree. I also agree with a "reward ' system - Vaccination passports -AR NZ has just announced this for International Travel in near future.
I am bitterly disappointed that in Auckland thee are still lots of people walking around without facemasks -sheer arrogance.
As for Brian Tamaki's self opinionated disregard for society I think as many have suggested he is upset that he has not been getting media attention lately.

How was his 'protest' group any worse than what many Ak'ers are doing on weekends in lockdown ?

have a look at the photo of Brown Bay Ak .
    https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/126...ack-at-level-3
    https://resources.stuff.co.nz/conten...2534193866.jpg

Plenty of Akers meeting up with friends and family, crowding local beaaches etc .
Hardly any social distancing at supermarkets .

The cats out of the bag .
Covid is here , its too late to try & eliminate it in NZ , as we are seeing .
Many in Ak now just get around the L3 lockdown & do what they want regardless.
Look at all the cars on road in Ak , what lockdown ?
I honestly dont think Ak people will tolerate a L3 lockdown for much longer, they will just start to ignore it .

I certainly can't agree with that. Just because they are that stupid does not mean that we should not care for them - it is the humane thing to do.

But I do agree with a reward system but it's a pity that the people who have already been vaccinated should miss out on the reward. Perhaps they can be given privileges that the anti vaccers don't receive.

What is wrong with our useless Police? HERE

Why haven't they thrown the book at Tamiki and company?

Where do I sign this Partition?

I'm well and truly over these Activists from the Independent Republic of Auckland.
