A lot of people are making money off Lotto. Those selling it, those producing it and the ones advertising it. The Government also takes a large cut in tax. The "Profit" distributed to charity is a very small percentage of that which is taken in. The actual percentage is well hidden because some would be reluctant to buy tickets if they knew how small it really is.

TAB is only allowing onine betting at the moment, that's hurt alot of people who couldn't register for an online account.

edit, as in me, I would have been $800 richer if I could have put my usual bets on this weekend..... Oh, poor me....

yes. Hurt. As one of 4 residents here in this closed bar, it falls on me to ensure the beer in the kegs doesn't go to waste. It can be a costly exercise.

Aaah, beer! Now that's different to gambling. If I were nearby I would be happy to help you with that problem!

Husband knew - occasionally did work for this guy, when the guy had cut through a water main doing his concreting(no not Tim) ....this guy who would run raffles now and then.
He had a pub at his property too....well he called it a pub. He accepted money for the drinks anyway

Anyway one raffle was for a lovely classic Mustang, mint car....and not cheap tickets either, I forget, but something like $50 a ticket and this years ago...

Apparently he didn't sell all the tickets he said, and so...he won it himself.
    Surprisingly no-one ever killed him.

How is that a bad thing....?
When did anyone need to waste money on lotto tickets?

Next you'll be telling us there's drug addicts being discriminated against because their local meth dealer is closed....?

Everyone already has access or can learn to. I think it is fair to continue it.
