Personally take specs as a rough guide only.

Just got hold of an old HP Windows 8 Laptop today that the person was throwing away as he didn't want to update the OS or put in a SSD - Tried the Leaked Version, with the TPM patch added to the ISO, straight in no hassles, basically exactly the same as W10 ( different interfaces of course) Activated on the inbuilt W8 Key, The only drivers it didn't pick up were the card reader & intel management Engine, went to HP's site downloaded and installed W8 drivers - sweet as

Then tried on one workshop Insider OS (Dropped the last backup Image on another drive) according to the hardware its not compatible, well its running very nice and smooth so far, in fact better than the original insider Build.

Next week the insider build should be here of W11, so we'll try that

The requirements so far would rule out 75% or more due to TPM2 compatibility

My build last year with a Gigabyte B360 Board does not qualify but has a TPM terminal for a Daughter Board (TPM2)

Also have another Board for a build that can qualify with the addition of a Daughter Board

    Early days yet

Yep 2 four year old laptops here and according to MS neither will run Win11 *** they are not that old and both are working perfectly. Guess when they die anything we get then will be on 11 or Linux anyway

At the moment thats not quite correct (with the leaked version) have two computers here that dont have TPM at all due to their age, both fell short on installing saying "PC Can't Run Windows 11", yet change the appraiserres.dll in the Source Folder in the ISO and away it goes

This is from a OLD HP Desktop, Early W7 aged (over 10 years old) no TPM Settings in the BIOS. Ran the MS Checker says it cant run W11, BUT changed the appraiserres.dll as mentioned and heres the results- Thought I'd move the start button from center to the left and its quick and at this stage very stable !!

Quite aware changing the appraiserres.dll in the Leak works for now

Don't think a franken-build will work in the Final release ,TPM is dropped for testing

Lucky to have 2 boards that will comply and another 2 that won't support TPM2 in any way

If Microsoft Force this, Windows 11 will be a flop like Windows 8 was.

If they think millions of people are going to go out and buy new hardware just so they can run W11 - they are dreaming the responce will be GET F***ED !!!

There will ALWAYS be work arounds to any sort of software blocks MS put in place.

Sometimes yes, others no. Mind you got a couple of older computers here that wont run any type of linux newer than 18.

The newer versions more or less go (if they could talk - Which Windows does BTW ) -- You think I'm running on that - forget it !!

Got this email from MS today
    "Hi Windows Insider,
In preparation for releasing Windows 11 Insider Preview Builds to the Beta Channel later this summer, we are moving PCs that do not meet the minimum system requirements for Windows 11 in the Beta Channel to the Release Preview Channel.
Based on our data, your PC doesn’t meet the minimum system requirements. To ensure a better flighting experience, it will be moved from the Beta Channel to the Release Preview Channel automatically so you can continue enjoying the Windows 10 Insider Preview build features. No action on your end is necessary.
Thank you for your participation in the Windows Insider Program!
    The Windows Insider team"

Just looked at the Preview settings and I see that I have already been moved to the Release Preview Channel . Was on Beta yesterday.

I have no idea what you mean by "Linux 18" but it depends on the distro. Some aggressively deprecate support for older hardware while others don't.
