Cool iPhone photos to PC issue!

This is probably simple but not one that I can figure out!
My wife has a iPhone XR and mine is a iPhone 11.
Some of her photos I transfer to my iPhone using AirDrop and then from my iPhone to the PC via a Flash Drive.
You will see on the attached PC screen shot that her JPGs are only about 15KB v mine at 4000KB +.
Ok suggestions on what’s going on here?!
Many thanks.Click image for larger version.

Try it Via the USB -- MANY times that sorts out other ways / problems.

The important part is "cable that can transfer files." Not all USB cables are capable.

She may have the camera set to "Most Compatible" mode under Settings----->Camera----->Formats which reduces the file size, I think the default mode is High Efficiency mode (for the new iPhones) which is the HEIF/HEVC format

    Another thing...

There is an option under Settings---->Photos----->Optimize iPhone Storage

Basically, the phone will hold lower resolution copies of the photo locally and when you want to use the photo via sharing or editing (on the phone) it will then download the full res photo from iCloud.

With Optimization enabled it also (by default) for the internal storage (this is when plugged into a PC) you may not see all the photos when browsing the internal phone storage via Windows Explorer which is a "symptom" of the optimized storage option being enabled.

    HTH.

Well in my very very old age I keep learning new things!
Copying from the XR direct to the the Flash Drive works fine.
Thanks very much for the heads up.
