Default Are you in to genealogy?

I recently went on a one morning course on genealogy and found it very interesting and I learnt quite a lot but one thing I was not told was a good free genealogy site. The site the tutor was using is expensive.

Is there someone who is building their family tree and uses a good free genealogy site? I would like to be able to enter a name and search for information such as birth date and where they were born, death date, mother and father, spouse, occupation and any other information that might be interesting.

    Your help is appreciated.

That's fine by me. My father said something about witches in our past which sounds rather interesting, so I'm not worried.

I’m afraid Roscoe the words Free and Genealogy shouldn’t be used in the same sentence.

The problems we face today are because the people who work for a living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

https://www.familysearch.org, best one to start with, it's free. Latter Day Saints may distract you.

Most other sites will accept your trees', but you will have to pay to view other peoples' trees.

    FindMyPast.co.uk
    Ancestry.co.uk
    and many others'

I have found free is useless. Especially if your ancestors are not from Aus, USA, UK or NZ.

All my ancestors are from NZ or the UK so that's alright with me.
