Default Electronic Kit Suggestions for clever 7yr boy, real reviews please

Ive a 7yr old grandson who is very bright, (full structured sentences at 6y8m).
Anyway, next time he is here for the next school holidays, Id like to keep his mind entertained with an electronic kit or similar. Im a retired electrician, so dont worry abt him getting involved in more than 1.5 - 9V battery voltages.

Jaycar has a selection of simple kits it might be worth your time to look at their website.

If you want to give him a push go for a new comp build (if you want one)

If he is that way inclined this could be a real boost

To help him understand basic electronics and to assemble simple projects
consider using YENKA free software that will simulate the project and test
the build before physical assembly. Download here:-

As someone linked brain box might be a good option. Can get kits with sirens, lights switches etc.

There’s no soldering though, it’s snap together circuits. Not bad.
