It's not a graphics issue... it's an issue with the Direct X APIs specifically the Direct X 11 module: d3d11.dll.

So it's an issue with the game itself rather than a graphics driver or hardware problem.

    In the report, it lists

    Faulting module name: d3d11.dll,
    Exception code: 0xc0000005

d3d11.dll is related to DirectX. directX is used in graphics (simple version of explaining) Technical explanation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_JkkqQ9qAg Warning its

( this is in simple nontech language)
If you look at almost of the crashes world wide, various forums, relating to this, the same .dll & Exception Codes go hand in hand.

If its only crashing while playing games ( and 99% are game related), then the games are obviously using more Graphics than other type of tasks, Browsing, documents etc.

There have been some suggestions that work or at least test, all the following are Quotes from various sources, in no particular order.

*The D3D11.dll file is part of the DirectX11 distribution and is regularly utilized by games and applications that require a lot of graphical processing.

    * if d3d11.dll causing problem check lastest GPU drivers and dx12 compatibility (...if no, buy compatible GPU card)

*i have the same problems, but if a switch to the integrated intel card i can use for several hours without crashes (and constant 10/12 fps)

    * I did a clean install of win 10. It did not help. Then I found the error in event viewer is about d3d11.dll. I bought another video card that supports dx12. Now it finally works.
Some have removed the Graphic Card and tested with onboard graphics - While no where as good problem disappeared. (mentioned several times.)

Some have run the various standard Scans,
    *sfc /scannow
    *Chkdsk
    *dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

tested Hardware -- Burnin tests, memtest

Problem fixed, others made no difference.

There are hundreds of Posts all saying the same thing, with MANY different games going back years --- d3d11.dll Crashing Error code 0xc0000005 So its not just one game or Operating system.

Oh, thats good then, if thats the case.
I'll stop looking for faults in my system.
I've just run American Truck sim in Open GL for about a hour.
First difference was, I had to up the resolution to 2560x1440 to get full screen.
This dropped the frames down to between 60 & 80Hz
I usually run all my games at 1920x1080 @100Hz
I also noticed the CPU & GPU temps were running about 5 degrees lower.
Seemed to work fine at that setting but did notice some lag when turning.

    See is graphic related

Open Graphics Library) is a cross-language, cross-platform application programming interface (API) for rendering 2D and 3D vector graphics. The API is typically used to interact with a graphics processing unit (GPU), to achieve hardware-accelerated rendering.

Question is, how to fix it ?

Just had another similar crash while on Open GL.
I'm not overly familiar with event viewer, but this one shows about the same time.

Which version of Windows 10 are you running 20H2 etc?

This thread has solutions which range from going back to Windows 10 v1909 (requires a fresh install) and others have replaced GPUs?

From the report "Faulting application name: dwm.exe" Again Related to graphics, so the problem is still there.

Desktop Window Manager (DWM, previously Desktop Compositing Engine or DCE) is the window manager in Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 that enables the use of hardware acceleration to render the graphical user interface of Windows.
Try turning off Harware Acceleration. Depending on the Graphic Software installed will depend on where the option is.

    This may help ---- https://www.thewindowsclub.com/hardw...tion-windows-7

If you want to try disabling Hardware Acceleration there are several ways. As per the instrucytions above as well as the following https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/...dows-10-a.html Some software doesn't have the options ( my cards to old even with latest Drivers). BUT if you want to use the reg method, scroll down in that page theres a couple of pre-configured reg files, 1 to disable and 1 to enable again should you wish. You just download and run / Merge them.
