Media player classic still, it was abandoned by the original developer but has been rescued and is back.

I'm a big fan of Music Bee now, but that's because I like the playlist and tagging capabilities built into it.
If you just need to play music and don't care about many advanced features, most of the other ones mentioned already would do a perfectly job, even the default Windows ones.
