Languages evolve all the time, the Dutch one according to my wife who had Dutch parents evolves roughly every 10 years.

Dutch? Look at English.
Which....Old English? Middle English or Modern English?
It began as a german dialect and mutated as the UK was invaded, and now....even between countries it varies.
As for the spelling, and no-one had written language originally......

But no-one raves on about that nor the variation in the way english words are pronounced.
