    But , one way to safely kill LiPo batts is drop them in salty water .Ive done this with my failing RC Lipo batts
    I guess being underwater they are smothered & safe .

    Lithium batts dont need any air to burn, thats why they are so hard to put out. They can generate their own oxygen when ruptured/overheated etc .
    You need to smother the flames (eg with sand) , but will still be reacting .

    Very good article.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one to acknowledge the shortfall's of the present batteries.

    Well, that’s not a very good start to “Saving the Planet” is it.

    Wonder where 82,000 EV batteries are going to wind up?
