That's interesting. Thanks for that Zqwerty.

    https://www.bbc.com/future/article/2...o-lack-of-salt

Raymond Playford, Professor of Medicine at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, says cramp is not associated with needing more salt in your diet in the majority of cases.

Your body uses salt to balance fluids in the blood and maintain healthy blood pressure, and it is also essential for nerve and muscle function. It’s impossible to live a life without any salt (you’ll die!)

Husband has an issue, having no sense of smell all he gets is sweet, salty, sour etc.
And tended to add salt to everything...so now he has Lea and Perrins. Gives him the same effect without the mega salt he was doing.
(3% of daily allowed contained in his dose so that's ok)

depends on heat and work load, and its not about cramps.
    its more about heat exhaustion.
we have one of the electrolytes solutions. tho its a low salt version because most guys tend to have high salt diets anyway.
but we tend to be pretty extreme. try wearing multiple layers or overalls, plus boots and gloves. or a completely enclosed spray suit.
then start haling tons of weight. how hot it is is gauged by how much sweat is sloshing around in your gloves. overheating is a serious problem.
none of this cruise around on a bike in light clothes with a breeze stuff.
the electrolytes are not critical but do help with the heat stress, especially as we do this 5 days a week.

And if you've ever lived in the country you'll know that the farmers put out a salt lick for their cattle.
