Default For fans of The Shadows

I received a 3 CD set of The Very Best of the Shadows from Santa and after listening to it this morning I would recommend it to any fan of The Shadows.

It has tracks (62) that all fans will know: Apache, Wonderful Land, Kon-Tiki, F.B.I., Man of Mystery, Guitar Tango, The Savage, Dance On, The Frightened City and many more.

SWMBO bought it from Marbecks, but I suppose any music shop will sell it.

Well worth it. A great Chrissie pressie.

I love The Shadows! I saw them playing in Palmerston North quite a few years ago. In the late 80’s.

It's not the least charm of a theory that it is refutable. The hundred-times-refuted theory of "free will" owes its persistence to this charm alone; some one is always appearing who feels himself strong enough to refute it - Friedrich Nietzsche

Yes, great to watch them live, my kids were 14 (girl) and 11 (boy). They really liked the concert too! My son took up guitar after that and now plays in a Heavy Metal band!

I love the Shadows and remember when Apache first came out. Early 1960s most dance bands in NZ were copying them. Hank Marvin solo also has some great tracks. The rhythm guitar (Bruce Welch) playing was great linkage with Hank. Their reunion concerts are still popular.
