I had an older lappy that died on me, so I bought an external hard drive case.
Its a SSD 120 GB drive, so I pluged it in and could read it.
Was the C drive.
Thought best to format it as NTFS and it ended up at about 4.24 GB.
Can anyone please advise what I'm doing wrong, so I can get my 120 GB back.

Look at the drive in disk management not what you see in explorer, you may see your missing gigs there as the partition is still to be named.

Search for disk management in the MS search box if you are using Win 10.

I found 106 GB but dont know what to do.
I'm old & unwell, so need simple directions, please

As far as I can remember, right click the relevant partition in disk management and follow suggestions to name it, also make sure it is formatted to NTFS since you may not have done this partition.

You may be better off with Partitioning Software ( easier to use).

Try https://www.partitionwizard.com/free...n-manager.html Free Version, (the Blue Download Now) install it. Be careful, when it asks what to install, only select the Partition Software:

once installed, look for your Drive you want to change.

Down the Bottom, right click the drive ( or a partition) - Delete. MAKE SURE you select the correct drive - repeat for all partitions on the Drive. Then click Apply. ( bottom Left).

Once All cleaned right click drive, Create - Call it anything you want or leave it blank, - Click Apply, it will format in a matter of seconds to NTFS as a blank / Empty drive.

Can you supply a screen shot of the Partition Program showing the drive please.

BTW a 120GB SSD wont show as 120, maybe closer to 110 - 115.

Opened up the new G drive & pressed Print Screen, them CTRL Print Screen finally Alt print Screen. all blank

Try the Snipping tool, with the Programs open showing the drives, in the search type "Snip" Open snipping tool - select mode ( see Below) - select which one you want - ( have a play to see whats suits) Then save and attach the picture.
