how to print white on coloured paper

I do this sort of thing. I use Vistaprint. It's cheap...can't be bothered with the whole print and get card and fold and bother.

Print it, then use white paint or twink to colour in the white bit.

Yes I could, but it really is not that big a deal. I was just struck by the technical issue.

To print white on something colored you need to use opaque white ink or paint silk screen would be the way to go. You can't print white on colored paper with an inkjet. But you COULD print a colored background onto WHITE paper and leave the type "knocked-out" so that you see the type as white.

Sure. My issue was that I wanted to print on card to make a Christmas Card, and the only card I have is yellow, and I'm too tight fisted to buy white card.
It looks OK on yellow.

Print on white paper, glue the paper over the yellow card?

Card is not that expensive (assuming you only want one or two). Somewhere like Geoffs Emporium sell various card stocks for 20c a sheet.

I hadn't thought of Geoff's Emporium as a source of card - definitely worth remembering.
