Just when did anyone in the govt or govt depts ever say it was anonymous
Please supply quotes or links that show we have been told lies .

Clearly it cant be anonymous , so any govt employee stating otherwise is a MORON , and should be mocked accordingly

From the MOH's website . Where does it say anonymous ?
    https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/...racer#personal

"The personal information and contact details you choose to register through NZ COVID Tracer" .... " so contact tracers can quickly get in touch if you are identified as a close contact..."

mountain, molehill , tinfoil hat ?

    from the MOH website
"Any information (excluding anonymous statistical information) "
so , some statistical info will be shared between depts . Only that shared statistical data is anonymous .

Govt depts & govt employees are famous for misuse & abusing collected personal info , so I can see why so many dont trust the govt with this additional data collection.

Google and Apple are WAY Worse -- esp with Alexa and Siri, to prove this the other week, some of the ladies in the office where SWMBO works were talking about something (cant remember now wasn't really listening but their phones were) two of them have Iphones and one uses Siri, low and behold within 30 minutes they were getting targeted ads relating to what they were talking about.
Same thing happened to me the other day.
Was at a mates place who had a dart board up and we were playing and talking about darts.
Later that evening I start seeing adds for darts on my phone.
I've never in my life searched for darts or anything to do with darts.

On that basis if I was to tell you Huntly is north of Whangarei I would not be telling a lie because you can check it out on a map. I do not think so.

The Hon Chris Hipkins stated exactly that on TV1 6:30 news when announcing the Bluetooth add on to the app.

    .
Everything is spying on you now. Printers , modern hi-tech cars , phones , PC's , most free online services .
opps , I meaning collecting telemetry

Even your TV is spying on you.
One famous TV brand got caught , its smart TV's were recording conversations & that was sent to 3rd parties for 'analysis'

Turning these devices ~off~ doesnt allways stop it either

THE BT part of the app IS anomynous

"Information about who you have encountered using Bluetooth Tracing will never leave your phone and is automatically deleted after 14 days.

    but
"Bluetooth tracing lets your phone exchange anonymous random keys with other nearby phones that also have Bluetooth tracing enabled. If you or another app user in your community tests positive for COVID-19, other app users who have been in close contact can be quickly notified"
So the BT data both does & does not leave your ph.

    https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/...z-covid-tracer
"The contact alert process for NZ COVID Tracer does not involve transmitting any information from your phone"
" it is your choice whether to share your digital diary with the Ministry. You are in control of your data."
so both does & doesnt share data , depending on how you look at it .

So , it seems nothing is uploaded unless you chose to do so.
the whole point of the app is to trace where you've been & who you've been in contact with.
IF you choose to upload that data including your personal details , then obviously not anonymous . But , thats your choice

Heres how the BT part of this works, assuming NZ is using what google & apple developed .
    The BT part is anomynous
    https://www.wired.com/story/apple-go...cing-covid-19/

"The advantage of that system, in terms of privacy, is that it doesn’t depend on collecting location data. "People's identities aren't tied to any contact events,"
