Default It's been very quiet around here lately

We are under the flight path to Auckland Airport and usually have jet planes roaring overhead but since the border has been closed there have been none.

Air New Zealand must be doing it hard plus the other airlines and the duty free stores at the airport must be closed.

Luckily we are not in any business that relies on tourists. I am retired and SWMBO works for a bank in the international department and is, at present, working from home.

How is everybody else doing? Hopefully the border closure is not hurting you too much.

not to bad here but air freight has tripled in price so thats effecting work. they have resorted to sea freight.

the airline overseas is a horror show. a lot of big dollar (trillion dollar) deals done to keep aircraft industry going.

Sons work isn't affected by border stuff, just the govt having given the HNZ contract to China. In April, the bastards....
So his workplace loses half it's income now and is thus putting people off at end of the year.

What Housing NZ contract is that piroska? It seems odd that China is involved with that.

    Piroska!

BTW +1 ... if HNZ is not Housing NZ, what is it (serious)? And if it is, what exactly is the contract for?

I have very high hopes that seriousness is a reversible condition.

    Helicopters NZ

Choppers have been very quite here as the local cowboy has been away taking part in the Tahr slaughter for DoC. The other local guys did fly over today but haven't seen them for several months

They do bathroom stuff, they import some and make the rest - like the vanities and such. That contract.
The govt are sneaky bastards, you don't see big announcements about **** like this, they do it by stealth.

They had the contract renewed every 4 years for ages, right on lockdown they lost it, sorry China now they said......

No idea but he is having a new house built over the road right up against the hills. Everyone knows who he is and what he does. Plenty of pissed off hunters around here too.

And no my firm isn't building it, our main rivals are and they hunt too.
