Why? Think a lower socio-economic malaise ... poorer standards of education, poorer health, illiteracy, low levels of comprehension, a reliance on lotto and/or a deity to rescue oneself. Some civil servants on remuneration packages that could support 8 or 9 such disadvantaged families. Jobs charitably called a sinecure, but more accurately called a gravy train. Substance abuse in an effort to at least tolerate and ease the pain of that injustice in our slice of God's own.

I almost forgot to add ... a malaise that results not always but usually does, in large families. Solo mums raising kiddies often by different fathers. A resulting cycle of poverty and a disadvantaged existence.

Yes, all these things our politicians promised to right. Remember one hollow promise of banishing child "povidy"? Once that and other promises served the purpose of winning an election, that was the last we heard of it.

In the year 2018/2019 New Zealanders spent $225 for ever man woman and child on associated Lotto gambling.

How much was spent on other forms of gambling such as pokies, horses etc.

How much was spent on alcohol and drugs.

Show me your facts. You just made that up.

Also the entire of Hastings isn't a poor zone, only Flaxmere.
Ditto South Auckland. Parts of Sth Auckland are quite rich...........

The only good thing about South Auckland is it makes it easier for the cops to manage as all the scum are centralised.
