Which Gigabyte motherboard would compare closest to Asus Rog Strix Z490-E Gaming.
Which Gigabyte motherboard would compare closest to Asus Rog Strix Z490-E Gaming.
What's the "issue" with the Asus board?
Asus PRIME Z370-P
Core i7-8700K
Corsair Hydro H100x
16GB Klevv BOLT X Gaming 3200MHz DDR4
Intel 660P 512GB M.2 NVMe
Crucial P1 1TB M.2 NVMe
Crucial 512GB SSD
GTX 1660 SUPER OC
Corsair Crystal 460X
EVGA SuperNOVA G+ 650W
When researching the specs on the Asus board, I noticed they have reduced the number of chassis fan headers to two.
I guess they are assuming everyone will have water cooling.
Whereas most of the Gigabyte gaming boards have four, which is what I want.
I'm not familiar with the Gigabyte hierarchy but assume the Aorus series is on the same tier as ROG STRIX.
But as the Asus board in question is on the bottom of the gaming ladder, was wondering if it compared with the Gigabyte Z490X Gaming.
Gigabyte Z490 AORUS ULTRA
Or use a power adapter widget, most of the case fans connect to molex anyway.
Ex-pctek
Look at the chipsets they both use. Thats what ~drives~ them
Thats all that will make any real world difference. All the rest is marketing fluff or un-needed addons
You can also get a Y splitter to connect two fans to one header, and if you want to speed control them you can get them without the 4th wire to one of the fans so it only uses one fan to sense speed from (or just cut that wire)
