Looks like a phone charger to me, but the scale against your thumb makes it look a bit too wide for a phone jack.
The icon on the upper face of the plug might give a clue, but I can't quite make it out from the angle of the pic.
Does look like an old phone connector, I have a pretty much Identical plug on a universal phone charger cable In my hand right now.
Couldn't say for what though, maybe an old iPOD ?

They use to install this plug under the passenger side as an option for cars but that was many years ago.
I think its an early I phone I Pad charger before they went to the the lightening connector.

I think it is a European type socket to connect cell phones to the car system.
About ten years out of date I think. Used as an adapter to connect to the many older cell phone type interfaces.
