    You should look at two stage verification for your Gmail (and other financial logins). That way it's almost impossible to be hacked.
    Once it's set up its not a lot different to normal, but any login from a new device must use the code sent to your cellphone.

    Yes you can, you sign into your Google account, ( on a computer) https://myaccount.google.com/ on the left click on Security, scroll down the page, Under Devices shows every Device that uses the account.
    Update / Upgrades = Replace old bugs with new ones.
