    Oooh...nice motherboard.
    Nice RAM.
    Nice case.
Nice withthe HDDs, I did that with my sons build, an SSD and his old TB mechanicals for storage.....

Not quite as keen on the PSU, but it's OK...just a personal thing.

But....where is the GPU? You didn't get one?

    What "unknown" means, I don't know! :-)
Hi Piroska - I had added the details above in the post just before your second one. So that the GPU.

Re the PSU, I googled what that means and apparently it is the Power Supply Unit. Am not even sure which one I got. Did not know that
there are different ones? Lots still to learn!

That's got some zip, you must be able to fly through the Solitaire now
I was a bit disappointed with my last upgrade, it still struggles to get above twenty mistakes a minute typing speed. DOS and an 8088 could do that (a hedgehog could do better and not get so prickly about it).
    Entropy is not what
    it used to be.

Power supplies are usually not made by the Brand on the label.
They get them made by another company & slap their own brand labels on them.
One well known company got caught slapping on a power rating label that was above the manufactures actual rating

Cant tell much just by the brand any more .

I know all about brand vs component manufacturers. But in general say Antec vs Hyena.....well.
A cheat way to see a good one is weight. Every crap brand one I came across weighed nothing.

Not a very technical way to do it, but for the can't be bothered it helps.

This reminds me about how cd rom drives changed. When they were first built, they were heavy and reliable. Once they got pass the hurdle of making people believe in them, they were built cheaper, much lighter and that introduced all the problems we started seeing.

Well I have a DVD/CDrom in my PC which is about 9 years old now. Still works, I stuck a disc in it the other day....although these days they are pretty obsolete.

Well, no one wants to pay $300 for a PC CD drive any more .
The old ones were no more reliable anyway , Ive seen plenty of faulty early CDRoms . :-)
