Depends on what you want to use it for, what size, and amount you want to spend, if its general purpose, I've been putting in AOC's for quite a while now, never had any problems and they are reasonably priced.
My Own one is a AOC 27", frame-less, looks a LOT better without all the bezil taking up real-estate.
My Sons got 2 x 24" Viewsonics - and the Picture is WOWCrystal clear

Where as Mine is Similar ( frameless) But AOC 27"

They have a 24" as well.
I put in the 24" AOC on Tuesday at my wifes work along with a new computer, The old HP LCD was sitting next to it, and the glare / Reflection from the Sun coming in and hitting the glass on the HP, it was basically impossible to look at the screen, where as the AOC , it was clear and no reflection at all. The frame-less made the old HP with its bezil look really![]()

Get IPS , if you can afford it.
Some monitors have Blue reduction, supposedly better for your eyes
If you have a monitor stand you want to mount it on , make sure the monitor you buy has a 100% removable stand and stalk.
Ive bought a few differnet monitors to mount on dual desktop stands, only to find the monitors attached stand isnt fully removable, you get an ulgy stalk sticking below the monitor. Just why
Also , some have 1 year , some have 3 year warranty. 3 year makes it easier if they die.
And some warranties are zero pixel (best) , some arnt : so if some pixels die or get stuck on, it may not be covered by manufacturers warranty
I bought the cheapest new 27" I could find (cheapest from well known brands).
Its fine. Its certainly not the best display available .
Avoid : Philips , LG :-)
I bought a second hand Samsung when my old one died. Excellent monitor, still going strong after 3 years...and how old it was before I have no idea, pretty old, it's not big.
Ex-pctek
I want to replace my Viewsonic VX2235wm which has finally given up the ghost. That info' from you both is what I was looking for and will certainly help me with my choice of replacement. I hadn't thought about using the old stand and that is where advice comes in handy.

Wainui. That Viewsonic VX2476 looks ideal but unfortunately out of stock. Will have a look at the AOC. Thanks.
This virus has really hit supplies HARD, obviously with stock running out from all suppliers.
And dont even ask about power Supplies
One of my main Suppliers, ETA's are mostly june - july, with only a few Late may.

Some have removable Stands completely
See youtube video at approx 2.30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZQ5tvEE5YI
I know the AOC's have it, dont think that model I linked in Viewsonic does.

Current ETA for the VX2476 is 26th May ( 54% accurate) which means it may or may not be at that date, sometimes it can jump to a month later, all depends on shipping, and this Virus is really throwing ETA's out![]()
How does the AOC compare with the Viewsonic VX2476?
