    I don't know if this is just me, but for me it has, to quote my Scots husband, has 'Been up and down like a hoors drawers'. You work it out - I think you all can (the meaning of that I mean )

    The way he pronounced it (he was Glaswegian - he said they spoke English, but no they don't) it was quite original for NZ.

    When I was young and callow, my first client was a 16 year old lad from the Gorballs. He had only been out here a few months. He couldn't understand me and I couldn't understand him. It took a long time to learn each other's language, and we both thought we were speaking English
