    Default Spam Email?

    Hi

Just got an email from 'Spark' asking for account verification... Suspicious! Rang them and
they said no such email has been sent by them.

Return address was "https://webmail-xtra-co-nz.desker2.com" - suspicious?????

    Has anyone else received this???

Needless to say I have just deleted this.

    Cheers

This week I had a very legit looking email from IRD , saying I had a $120 refund.

I know IRD want you to do everything online, but theres no way I'll ever click that link in the email.

Cheers 1101 - should have realised that it was when it went to an alias on my main email and not my Spark login email acct. :-)

Simple Rule. NO legit business or such will ask for an account verification out of the blue.

Bit like banks and ISP's asking the same, WHY, they already have full access to all your account details if they need to look at anything.

We always get ones from Netflix saying similar. Now while we do have Netflix there's two good giveaways its fake - point number 1 above and the way its spelt. Netflex

With domains, anything before the final .company.country is meaningless.

I could make pressf1.myscamsite.nz - nothing to do with pressf1 and everything to do with the last bits.

    So yours is just desker2.com.

    Thanks All.

Yep - Firefox did block the images and warn of a suspicious site. One of the reasons I only use web mail these days....

Thanks also for the info Piroska - learnt something there :-)
